Dude, look at Lord English’s freaking pecs, I’m 99% certain it’s already canon that Calliope is transgender. In fact, it’s my headcanon that the reason English doesn’t wear a shirt is because he likes to proclaim that their body is male and therefore in his eyes it’s HIS, which would fit with the horrific misogyny he’s displayed in canon as one of his primary traits. He’s glorifying his male form to rub it in to Calliope.

Which makes the death of her dreamself even more tragic, personally, because I also headcanon that her dreamself body was female and that’s one of the reasons she was so happy when she was dreaming.

after all, if their blood color can change, their body type could change too, especially when Calliope seems to have at least feminine hips:

I’d rather believe they’re hermaphrodites, though, possibly because estrogen is released whenever Calliope is in control, while testosterone is released whenever Caliborn is in control, leading to a body that is both male and female in appearance, until Caliborn takes over for good, or at least for a long amount of time, especially in the growing ages, which would explain why Lord English’s body is so masculine. And perhaps the alien elements in their blood create a chemical reaction with both testosterone and estrogen(or cherub counterparts of the chemicals), to create the appearance of lime green blood for estrogen, and cherry red blood for testosterone.

But yeah.

well, first of all, people can headcanon whatever the hell they like and you can’t use your personal headcanon to try to “prove them wrong” because you’d rather believe something else and you want everyone else to believe it too, that’s just rude, there’s a lot about your headcanon that I could argue against but I’m not going to because you’re perfectly able to think what you want and there’s canon support for each of our theories

secondly, they’re not genderless because they identify in-comic as male and female, respectively

and thirdly, the vast majority of the transgender community today typically prefers to be called transgender instead of tr*nssexual (asterisking because I’m not sure if that constitutes a slur or not and I’m cis, better safe than sorry), because it’s not their sexuality that they’re referring to but their gender and transgender people can be anywhere on the sexuality spectrum no matter their gender identity or physical sex, and also because “tr*nssexual” has been used as an insult against them by cisgender people (though of course if an individual prefers to identify as tr*nssexual that’s a different story) so you using tr*nssexual when Calliope has been referred to as transgender throughout this discussion seems like a bit of a warning sign to me

so with all of that and “that’s just you guys wanting Homestuck to have more token minority characters” (??? what does that even mean) the only conclusion I can reach is that you’re angry someone headcanons Calliope as transgender because you aren’t comfortable with someone else even considering that a character you like isn’t cis

and that’s pretty damn awful.
