You know what I’d like to see in one of these 52 episodes?
Korra being proclaimed an airbending master by an Order of the White Lotus representative eager for her to combat the major threat of Book 2, against the wishes of Tenzin, who says she can’t have mastered airbending if she doesn’t understand the spiritual aspect.
“You’re being too cautious because you’re insecure about training an Avatar, Tenzin! Look at all that air she’s blowing around, she’s doing great! Besides, we need a fully realized Avatar to help us with [insert problem here].”
But since she was only able to reach it because of her anger at Amon and fear for Mako, Korra relies on emotion to fuel her airbending, and starts losing control of it whenever she’s upset. And she has to admit to herself that she isn’t ready, swallow her pride, and return to properly finish her training under Tenzin before it becomes too late.
Actually, why not make that the primary conflict of the season - Korra is told by everyone around her that she’s now ready to be a fully realized Avatar, and expected to fulfill her duties as such, but she has to learn humility and accept that she isn’t ready.
Please?
I wrote a theory on episodes ten through twelve last weekend, and based on the new clips we’ve gotten, I’d like to make a few minor revisions to it. Read that first if you want this to make sense, please!
I originally assumed that Korra would be heading to the Southern Water Tribe for some reason involving an information hunt, but now that we know Air Temple Island is getting raided by chiblockers in this episode, I’m going to revise that and say that she flees to her home to escape Amon’s initial attack at the urging of her friends, who may or may not come with her.
The battle in the finale, which I thought would be defensive on United Republic’s end and offensive on the Equalists’ end, is actually the opposite. Amon will take over the city in THIS episode, and the finale battle will be an attempt to reclaim it, with Korra aiding in the attack. The rest of my theory from that point on still stands, though the Air Temple Island scenes may be much earlier.
That’s all! Thanks for reading.
So, we saw the first images from the finale today! You can find the trailer here.
Theories about “Turning the Tides”, “Skeletons in the Closet”, “Endgame”, bloodbending, Amon, and the Avatar Spirit itself under the cut.
As of this morning’s episode, I think I’ve been able to piece together what happened 42 years prior to the events of The Legend of Korra.

First of all, I’m going to list all the information we know so far about tomorrow’s episode.
The first clip, where we learn that Team Avatar is patrolling Republic City for Equalists.
And two screenshots:

And of course, the title: “When Extremes Meet”.
